Golden Jubilee Bro. Amideus Somah
On the third of May 3 it was exactly 50 years ago that brother Amideus Somah promised his answer to Gods vocation as a MTB brother. He became the first Indonesian brother of the Congregation. Saturday afternoon a solemn vespers celebration was led by the provincial brother Gabriel. The celebration was attended by four brothers from Yogyakarta, 21 sisters from SFD Pati and Juana and the brothers and postulants of the community in Pati itself. Brother Ami did the prayers he had prepared himself. Brother Gabriel put the emphasis on gratitude and praise to God who always remained close an faithful to Brother Amideus. He also pointed to the suffering that had put Bro. Amideus patience to the test. Brother Gabriel also stated that a festive celebration will be held in Pontianak together with the other profession celebrations on the 15th of August.
After the ceremony, the meeting was continued with a joint meal in the garden of the brothers. The postulants brought folk to hear from Palembang, Kalimantan and other areas. Also the SFD sisters presented songs, dance and presents. On behalf of the community of Kota Baru in Yogyakarta the brothers Tim, Paul and Maxi expressed their joy and gratitude.
