The primary school and secondary schools ‘SMP Bruder and SMP Tarcisius’ with the boarding-school St. Mary are still the main field for the activities. The community experienced several changes. The number of pupils for the secondary school increased significantly so it was necessary to build new classes. The boarding school St. Mary was reopened for boys from the interior of West Borneo who wanted to go to school in Singkawang. The noviciate moved to Jogja in 1981 whereas the regionalate moved from Pontianak to Singkawang during the years 1988 to 2006. The brothers are not only active within the borders of schools and boarding schools but usually assist in pastoral jobs out of the town of Singkawang. Since 2006 they are involved again in the boys' and girls' village Nyarumkop.

The community of Pontianak continues the care of the schools founded by their predecessors. New methods ask for newer and appropriate buildings. The secondary high school SMA St. Paulus got its own building. The primary school Melati also moved to a new building. To facilitate a good management of the schools the “Yayasan PSB” got its own office. Facilities for extra activities and programs are under construction now. Because of his job as a Provincial of the Indonesia province, the provincialate moved in 2006 from Singkawang to Pontianak.

In 1951 the boarding school St. Michael moved to Singkawang and the boarding school for commerce was closed in 1957. So since that time the brothers in Pontianak had no boarding school anymore to take care of. But in the eighties of last century a lot of young people came from the villages to Pontianak to study at the university. That’s the reason why they started to pay attention again to the needs of boarding students and assisted the diocese by running the boarding school (ASKAP) in Sungai Jawi. In 1988 they took over a boarding school for students in ‘Gang Sepakat’. After some renovations and building new facilities, among others an aula, they founded a new community at the place in 2005 named ‘Gubio’ at the Jl. Sepakat II.

For a long time there was the intention to start a foundation in the interior of West Borneo. After two failures in Sanggau Kapuas four brothers started during the year 1982 in the village Jemongko on the banks of the river ‘Sekayam’. They were involved in the running of an ’asrama’, a secondary school and pastoral activities. On 31st of July in 1983 the community was officially recognized but they lived together with the parish priest in his house. At the time the main road to Malaysia was finished on the other side of the river they moved to the road’s side and got a house of their own in 1986. The brothers dedicated themselves to the future of the youth in the boarding school and the secondary school “Muara Sekayam” owned by the diocese and the public schools in Kembayan, Beduai and Kelompu. Besides that, some brothers were closely involved in projects of community development for the farmers in the environment and others in pastoral care for the youth.

The activities of the brothers in Pati knew its ups and downs. Because there was a lack of brothers with professional qualities as teachers their attention moved to non-formal education. In the ‘Wisma Alverna’ a lot of different courses (computer, accountancy, English language and sewing) were given. In cooperation with some lay teachers a training for youth-guidance (KPR), later on called (PTPKM), was developed. The course got much attention in the country but could not be continued. Since 1974 candidates who like to become a brother MTB can orientate themselves and get their initial formation during a year in Pati.

As a community of brothers from different congregations it did not stand a long time. In 1981 it became a noviciate house and at the same time study house for brothers studying on academic level. Their number increased from year to year. Extension was not attractive at that place. A house was rented in the nearby Jalan Ungaran but a final solution was made in 1992 by building a new noviciate in Bantul at the borders of Jogja. The brothers house Alverna became a study house for younger brothers.

To fulfil the needs of a better formation of our candidates there was need of more space and appropriate surroundings. In an atmosphere of good communication with the diocese of Semarang a good place was found at the east side of the town. Officially the noviciate moved to its new home in Bantul in 1992 at the 17th of May.

They are involved in a special boarding school for teachers (KPG) and the secondary high school Johanes. Moreover they give attention to courses in agriculture, cattle breeding and pastoral assistance in the neighbourhood. In this way they hope to make a contribution for the formation of kader to develop the villages in the interior.
